Cheesy Wors & Potato Hash Recipe

Looking for something to keep everyone going before the main food event? These tasty, bite-sized pieces of wors with crispy potato cubes and caramelised onions are the perfect summer snack.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 packet SPAR Tasty & Tender bacon & cheese wors
  • 4 SPAR freshline potatoes, parboiled and cut into cubes
  • 1 SPAR freshline onion
  • 1 punnet (250g) SPAR freshline cherry tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR unsalted butter
  • Salt & milled pepper

To serve

  • Handful chopped SPAR freshline parsley
  • Tomato sauce (optional)

Recipe Method

  1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook wors until browned and just cooked. Set aside to cool before cutting into small chunks.
  3. Add onion to the same pan. Cook for another 8-10 minutes until soft and just caramelised, stirring occasionally. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add potatoes to the same pan along with the butter. Cook in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Add wors, onion back into pan with potatoes. Add tomatoes to the mix and sauté for another 5 minutes until heated through. Season well.
  6. Sprinkle chopped parsley over and serve with tomato sauce on the side if you like.
