SPAR is passionate about the communities they serve, and are dedicated to the support of women and children through the ‘End Gender Based Violence’ campaign and other initiatives throughout the year.  They chose these particular charitable organisations in recognition of their vital work with abused women and children.

Angels Care operates a shelter for KZN’s homeless and destitute. Their aim is to provide a non-judgmental and welcoming atmosphere, founded on the belief that every human being is valuable and no one should be stigmatised because of their past or present situation. All residents are treated with compassion and respect.

Open Door Crisis centre provides a holistic, multifaceted one-stop crisis and trauma centre offering counseling, social services, and support groups to the abused and traumatised. Their aim is to promote healing and to inspire new beginnings for those who urgently need social and emotional support.

On 07 October Nozi Mkhize from SPAR KZN, formally handed over cheques to Thora Mansfield,  Open Door Crisis Centre founder and to Carolyn Hancock,  Angels Care Chairperson.

Thank you to Open Door Crisis Centre and Angels Care for your ongoing work to improve the lives of women and children in our community.
