Maize Dumplings and Biltong Soup Recipe

Take a couple of sachets of SPAR Freshline ready to heat Biltong soup and turn it into a filling meal for four with the addition of fresh maize and maas dumplings.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 x 500g SPAR Freshline Biltong Soup
 

Dumplings

  • ½ cups (75g) SPAR self raising flour
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) SPAR super maize meal
  • Big pinch SPAR salt
  • 1 tsp (5ml) SPAR butter
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) SPAR maas
  • 15g SPAR feta, crumbled
  • 2 tsp chopped SPAR Freshline parsley

Recipe Method

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together.
  2. Rub in the butter.
  3. Add the maas, feta and herbs.
  4. Knead to form a dough.
  5. Roll into 12 balls.
  6. Drop the dumplings into the soup, cover, and steam for 10 – 15 minutes.
