BLT (Bacon, lettuce, tomato) Recipe

A classic sandwich combination of the holy trinity of bacon, lettuce and tomato enclosed in a fresh sesame encrusted, hamburger bun.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 SPAR Freshline Jumbo Seeded Hamburger rolls, grilled / toasted
  • ½ cup SPAR mayonnaise
  • 12 slices Beechwood smoked bacon, cooked
  • 2 large SPAR Freshline tomatoes, sliced
  • 6 SPAR Freshline lettuce leaves, washed


  • 2 tablespoon SPAR olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon SPAR balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon SPAR Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove SPAR Freshline garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Recipe Method

  1. For the marinade -  in a bowl mix together the oil, vinegars, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the tomatoes and make sure they are well coated.
  3. Set aside for 15 minutes - tossing halfway through.
  4. Spread mayonnaise onto the bottom of each toasted burger bun.
  5. Place the lettuce on top.
  6. Top with two slices of bacon
  7. Remove tomato from the marinade and place onto the bacon. 
  8. Spread extra mayonnaise if desired (optional).
  9. Add the top of the bun and serve.
