When cooking a thick and good quality steak, like rump, sirloin or fillet, make sure the skillet is hot before you place any meat on it. To achieve restaurant worthy results, cook the steak for no longer than three minutes per side. The meat should be browned on the outside and pink at the centre. If steak is overdone it can lose its delicious and natural flavour.
