Serves: approximately 40 x 10g crackers
Ingredients
- 100g SPAR Sesame Seeds
- 100g SPAR Sunflower Seeds
- 100g SPAR Pumpkin Seeds
- 60g Flaxseeds
- 45ml Psyllium Husks
- SPAR Salt to taste
- 500ml water
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160°C.
- Line a large baking tray with baking paper and grease the paper with non-stick spray or butter.
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside for 10 minutes to allow the seeds to swell.
- Spread onto the prepared baking tray.
- Bake for +/- 1 hour until crispy. Allow to cool and break into cracker size shards. Store in an airtight container.
Flavour Variations:
You can add freshly chopped herbs such as thyme or rosemary, as well as other flavours such as grated parmesan cheese and black pepper.
Serve with SPAR Choice Butter or SPAR Cream Cheese.
- The Psyllium husks are an essential ingredient in this recipe. They absorb the water and turn it into a gel like consistency. Although they seem expensive, overall these crackers are cost effective to make, because you only use a small amount of the psyllium husks for each batch.
