Christmas Turkey Stuffing Recipe

You've bought a turkey that requires a moist tasty stuffing, and looking for a recipe? Using cranberry stollen as a basis for a fruity nut filling; this has potential to become your family's annual recipe tradition!

Yield: Sufficient for a 4 kg turkey

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 Kuchenmeister cranberry stollen 
  • 100 ml hot, weak chicken stock (1/4 chicken stock cube +100 ml hot water)
  • 250 ml Berry flavoured iced tea
  • 100 g SPAR plain and unsalted almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 100 g SPAR cranberries
  • Grated rind of an orange
  • 3 large sprigs fresh thyme or 5 ml dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 large SPAR egg

Recipe Method

  1. Break the stollen into rough cubes and combine with all the ingredients.
  2. Spoon this mixture into the cleaned turkey cavity, truss, and roast as usual.

Hints & Tips

Prepare the stuffing on Christmas Eve if this is convenient, but do not fill the turkey cavity until just before you roast it, to prevent possible bacterial contamination.
